Play with me in my Suit

My Playsuit is FINALLY made! Here is my photographic styling using my lovely flatmates!!!! I also took some really beautiful polaroids but unfortunately forgot to scan them in befre handing them in to be marked today!!! 

Louis' amazing photographs

I have just discovered Louis Park. He is an amazing photographer....here are some of my favorite images from a shoot he did for Vogue girl Korea. I love the vintage feel and the architecture is really quirky.

Fairgrounds

Suddenly everywhere I look all i can see is inspiration from fairgrounds!!! After basing my project around carousels and candyfloss i seem to have caught on a submerging trend. lets just hope on trend= high marks!!!!

NYC

Here are some of my lomography photographs from NYC after I have EVENTUALLY got them developed! unfortunately not all the pictures came out great but as with all lomo cameras it's all about trial and error. I bought a new film though so am going to try again this week when i photograph my playsuit...hopefully they will turn out better....

StYlInG IdEaS

Now that my playsuit is almost complete I have started to think about my photographic styling. Here are some images that have inspired me. I want to keep the photography fun and quirky and might use my coloursplash camera to get different effects! I'll have to wait for a sunny day though as i want to use the light in the same manner as some of these images......

Trends 09

Even though here in good old Blighty the sun is only just starting to appear.....The fashion industry is focusing on next Winters collections. Whilst browsing WGSN I picked up on two of the major trends set for A/W08-09 which were Visionary and Synthesize! As you can see from these pictures Visionary promotes a very modern/ futuristic vibe focusing on clean lines and minimal shapes. Synthesize on the other hand, shows a vivid use of colour and pattern, taking inspiration from this seasons geometric shapes.

Party Dress

My Favorite dress of the moment is this one from Urban Outfitters!! I wore it to a party last night and got lots of compliments!! I love the huge pockets and the print is really unusual. It is quite in keeping with the fairground theme that I created for my project which shows I must be doing something right...?

MiLk

One of my favorite blogs of the moment is a Swedish blog called milk. Her photography skills are amazing and she obviously loves lomography cameras as much as me! I already have the coloursplash and the actionsampler and will try and upload my own pictures asap. The only problem is that they aren't digital so the quality is never great! I really want the Holga, which is next on my list!!! I always find inspiration from the Lomography website!!!

Baby Baby Baby

Baby Baby Baby is one of my alltime favourite magazines!!!! It has previously been hard to get hold of but now American Apparel are selling it in-store and online which is amazing!!! It is similar to Amelias ( another of my favourites) in the way that it uses illustration and hand-typography but the photography is really quirky and unusual!!!! to buy a copy now go to www.americanapparel.com and click on newstand!!!

Design and make

Here are some of my designs for the garment making project! I'm keen on the playsuit with the horses! or the Ballerina type dress with pants attached!!! I'm excited to see the final product but know it's going to take hours in the sewing room!!! 

Print Print Print

These are some prints I have developed for another project at Uni. I wanted to keep them fun and fresh and have created a fanzine to support the work taking inspiration from fairgrounds. I am thinking of making a playsuit using these prints and am currently in the process of designing which i will update you on futher into the project. There are loads of florals and geometrics around but i just wanted to do something completely different. What do you think? 

Trends spring/summer 08

As part of one of my modules this semester I have been completing a shop report of current trends! These are some pages from a trend magazine I have produced detailing trends such as Geometrics, Florals, Artistic licence and playsuits which are still prominent in the shops ( I have to say I do own about 4 already and have my eye on a Reiss romper suit)

Having Just discovered DRIPBOOK I thought i would share with you the delights from Olka Osadinska. Her illustrations are gorgeous and I love the way she captures expressions and her use of colour. I wish I could use illustrator like this......maybe one day.

Welcome to my blog.

I have been perusing blogs for a while now and have been inspired by many of them so have decided to start one myself. I hope to use it to share my creativity and things that inspire me as that is what i have gained from other online bloggers!

I have just turned 21 so hopefully by this time next year i can look back and review my progress..... lets just hope i stick to my (lets say thrice weekly) updates......
